Forms of magic

Witch magic

The most practical and most commonly used form of magic, to the point that "magic" without clarification almost always refers to witch magic. Practitioners of this form are known as witches. It is safe and easy to use, but often is overly blunt and simplistic. It can be used in many different ways, including through focus-based casting, rituals, and the creation of magical items.

Rainbow magic

A wild and unpredictable form of magic. It is closely linked to the caster's own selfhood, making it highly personal. It can be powerful, but its scope is limited. It is mainly used instinctually; developing specific techniques is difficult due to its idiosyncratic nature.

Demon magic

The rarest form of magic. This form is very powerful, but using it requires great care and precision. It is highly procedural - missing a minor detail could prove fatal - so it is generally only used through rituals.

Clare

• Name: Clare Fuston-Jones
• Pronouns: She/her (occasionally it/its)
• Appearance: Tall and round. Light yellowish skin, with visible seams. Pink hair, long at the back and with a swoosh at the front that sticks out to the side. Small dark brown eyes.
• Personality: Kind, friendly, polite, modest. Easily overwhelmed. Spends most of her time working. Attracted to beefy people, regardless of gender. Dresses plainly.
• Relationships: Del (husband), Marley (buys books from her), Sebastian (brother), Sophie (friend, magic correspondant)

Clare is a magical chemist by trade. She uses her magic to create medicines and the like, which she sells at her own shop (yes, she is licensed for it).

Her durable inflatable body is filled not with air, but with an anomalous magical fluid with similar properties to compressed air. She bounces around in a lively fashion as she moves. She inflates and/or makes "mmffm" noises when she's excited, angry, surprised, &c., and deflates when she's sad or tired. Sometimes she accidentally releases her "energy" onto her surroundings, eg. when she sneezes.

She has limited control over her internal "energy", allowing her to change in size and shape. She often turns into any of various bouncy objects to relax. She can also use this to appear human for the sake of convenience (her hair is usually brown in this form).

She has a southern UK accent.

• Name: Del Fuston-Jones
• Pronouns: He/him
• Appearance: Hunky. White fur, bluish wavy mane and tail. Teal horn on forehead.
• Personality: Bold and confident. Loves to see people happy with themselves. Does puzzles in his spare time. Attracted to soft squishy people, regardless of gender. Doesn't wear a shirt if he can get away with it.
• Relationships: Clare (wife)

Del works as a therapist. He is good at reassuring and encouraging people, and he is also an expert in procedural magical body alteration. Ironically, he doesn't use his skills on himself much.

He has a southern US accent.
